The Hurley-Byrd Deer Feeder
  The One and Only
Build your own wild deer feeder with Free Deer Feeder Plans provided by
Hurley-Byrd. Now you too can build one exactly like we do.............. AND the plans are FREE!!!!!!
  What You Will Be Building
These plans are for one Extra Large Free Standing Deer Feeder.
You can easily add 12" or 24" to the feeder's long length lumber to build a feeder that suits your needs best. The plans are for a 36" long feeder. Our Ultra Large Deer Feeder is 48" in length and denoted in parentheses.
Material List
If you are going to go through all the work to craft this feeder, we recommend using a very good quality outdoor lumber. We use the world's finest clear grade A&Better Western Red Cedar but others will do fine. At least use a
pressure treated product or white oak or ??? with good outdoor qualities.
Pine is a serious NO-NO. It will rot out within a few years.

Upon completing each feeder and its subassemblies, Hurley-Byrd applies a penetrating oil finish. Please read as it will help your feeder last far longer.

The full list of materials to have a completed feeder are:

How
We are providing the cutting and dimensional hole placement in our plans.
We feel that after reviewing the dimensional plans and looking at feeder photos
you will be fully capable of assembling the feeder without further guidance.
One tip though, when assembling the trough, set the triangles on the bench so their "points" are facing up and lay the trough sides against the triangles. This will set the sides in the proper placement for adding the flat bottom as the last step.
You will understand when you get there.

So, there are no further written instructions.
BUT: If something is unclear, please write us and we'll answer all your questions.

Trough Sides: Very straight forward. Cut to dimension and drill holes.
Trough Sides

Trough End Triangle - Pretty Straight Forward.

Trough Flat Bottom - This is by far the most complicated piece to build.
It has angled cuts and angled drilling for the screw holes. We use jigs for ours as we produce so many of them. Drilling the screw holes will be the hardest part.
Trough Flat Bottom

Flat Bottom Boring Guide. This is used in conjunction with the plan
above and provides the spacing of the drain holes and screw holes and
the relationship between the two.
